HELP!!!! im struggling to find the right roles

im currently fulham in me 3rd season and not having the best of times (shed load of injuries), anyway, what i need to know is how do you know what role suits my players the best, eg advanved playmaker, DLP, advanced foward etc etc. ive got a decent set of players that could prob do a lot better im just struggling to find it. help please

when on your tactics screen, when you select the player on the right hand screen, look at the left hand side of the window, a screen with all the players attributes is shown, some of them are highlighted, those are the main ones needed for that selected role
