Hi guys, first time poster.

I've played FM for a good few years now and I've never had trouble up until 2012.

I've always ended up playing 2 seasons maximum and then giving up, but I decided it's time I get some help and see what it is I'm doing wrong.

The big problem I'm having is no matter what side I go, I have a great start to the season and put plenty of goals past clubs but once we hit the half way stage of the season my teams just seem to hit the self destruct button and I can never seem to fix it.

I'm currently at Spurs, by Christmas I was battling for 1st place with Man Utd, sitting in 2nd place having won about 77% of my matches. My objective was for Euro Cup places, I didn't want to aim too high. I've just finished my first season and since I've dropped to 6th place and my win percentage is 59% W-21 D-6 L-11 GF-67 GA-33.

I've attached a couple of pics of my tactics and team instructions. Any help would be much appreciated, because I just seem to go from my teams on fire (I beat Man Utd 5-0 in August 2011) to struggling to beat teams that are doomed for relegation, and then getting gubbed 3-0 by Newcastle and 3-0 by Liverpool near the end of the season with barely a sniff at goal. I must be doing something wrong but what?

Cheers

Fitness is key. Rotate your players from time to time to ensure that they don't become exhausted late on in the season.

It's really the exact same problem that the Spurs had last season.

Agree with the comment above. Another basic thing may be to pay more attention to you're opponents aswell. There are some real killers in the PL in FM such as doyle. Tortured me on many occasions. Also another thing I find is that a Treq and a poacher never work well together as the attacking burden lies only on the treq and he becomes too indivualistic. My advice for that would be to change VDV to a Advanced playmaker like that I think the front will click well together. Also sometimes its better to adjust you're tactic a bit to play away trips because they can sometimes be very tricky in the PL when you're playing a expansive attacking style. Just comprimise a little bit with the tempo be a bit more patient away from home.
Just a few tips from my personal experiences. Hope it helps.

Sounds like Spurs alright... on a serious note follow the two posts above, if it still doesn't work try making a new tactic with another formation.
