HELP NEEDED: I have downloaded FM12, but when I click to run the game, won't load

I bought FM12 today, I never bought the disc because I have a notebook. So I downloaded it and Steam, when everything installed I clicked on the game to run it, but it kept saying "Error: Football Manger 2012 already running".

But it's not running, I haven't even got to load it up, it won't work. I have tried restarting Steam, and I have restarted my notebook numerous times.. Still, no joy.

Can someone please help me as this is annoying me!

Try uninstalling game and steam then reinstall and try again i have had this before

How do you verify the game cache?

Actually, I just tried verifying the cache, but it keeps saying I need to close Football Manager before I do so. The game isn't running though, I have tried reinstalling but nothing is working.
