Help needed

This might sound like a silly question to some of you but... Ive been happily playing a network game with my mate, but then i saved it etc as normal and then when i load it back up were not sure how he 'rejoins' the game so to speak. We tried it with him just searching for the server, but it wasnt showing up that way:s any help would be appreciated!
