Afternoon all, After getting sacked twice i thought i would search for some help!

I have never played football manager before so i am a noobie, I started yesterday with West Ham.

I just need some tips what i should do to actually start winning games and not getting the boot lol and also i seem to get so many injures at one point i had 7 injures at one time?.

Not sure what tactics i should do and then team talks etc.

Appreciate the help.
Thanks

I agree mate but getting sacked is kind of getting boring lol

Is 4-4-2 attacking the best way?

Pick a team that's pretty much mid to lower tier in the PL and has at least secure finances. Pick automatic for past experience, since if you put any lower than national footballer, PL teams will ignore you. Then its set your initial tactic to something that fits the team, and slowly start turning them over into a team that fits the tactic you want to play. Hoenstly, its gonna take you about 5-6 runs to work the kinks out to figure out what your doing, then you can take on playing a top-tier team for a bit to get the rest of the workings down.

Try out some of the tactics on this site that people have uploaded. It is all about experimenting and finding what tactic is right for you. If the players you have don't fit the tactic then buy players to fit the tactic :)

Disagree with this point, you should fit your tactic around your players, not the other way about...

Each to their own. I like certain styles, formations & tactics to play with my teams. If the players don't suit then there are always alternatives that will :D

welcome to Fm mate :)

1) see what roles your players are best at by clicking in reports and looking top left, make a tactic that suits your players (if you have two good strikers and wingers then make a 442, if you have a good defensive mid and two good central mids then make a 433 using wingers/inside forwards and a lone striker) assign the roles that are best for your players after making the formation

2) see what the roles make the player do i.e: Box to Box (this means the player will push up and some times shoot from range, now if this player does not have good long shots, then drop the slider down to never) and so on for each player, if they are not good at passing/creativity then ask them not to play through balls and pass shorter :) see what I mean? tweak the tactic to the players strengths now over and above their best roles..

3) team instructions, what type of style of play do you like or want to implement in your team? quick counter attacking football, Barca type passing passing football, controlled, concise build up play focusing on defence more....

4) team talks: these will not work as well for you in the first season... so either ask your assistant manager to take them (pre-game, top right is a big button) and use mostly have faith/calm/relax for now, second season its much easier :)

5) have at least two tactics, one for home games and one for away games, away games are a lot harder this year.. so maybe play a deep countering quick tempo 433 or something and have them in your match prep, for the first year I suggest just having your match prep on teamwork high :)

6) sign good players! Loan good players! ask your board for parent clubs if lower league and offer for all of the players you want, you may get lucky... Look in the further parts of the globe for players, not just the usual ones, there are many gems out there if you know them and look...

7) get good coaches and staff

here are a few threads that could assist you as well :)
