After reading other post and the Jonathan Wilson article today in World Soccer magazine on attacking full backs I have decided to look at the 4312 formation because Arsenal has a good central midfielders and two of the best full backs in the world at getting forward. I like the idea of the 4312 because it will give me an advantage in the midfield area and will also allows me to play with two strikers something I like doing.

From reading various different ideas on the 4312 formation I have seen that some people prefer to have all round midfielders. The only problem I can see with playing this formation with the current Arsenal side is that we have more playmakers

I have listed my tactics and the positions of the players below however I would like the help of the tactical gurus to help me with setting up my Arsenal team to play the formation.

Starting Strategy - Fluid
Control
Passing Shorter
Creative Freedom - More Expressive
Closing Down - Press More
Tackling - Default
Marking - Zonal
Roam from position - default

Defensive Line - Pushed Up 14 on slider
Width - Narrow
Focus Passing - Through middle
Counter Attack - No
Offside trap - No

Team
GK - Defend
Clichy - Full Back Auto
Sagna - Wing Back Auto
Central Defender - Vermalean
Central Defender - Koscileny
Nasri Central Midfielder Attack
Jack Wilshere Central Midfielder Support
Alex Song - Ball Winning Midfielder - Support
Fabregas - Treq
Van Persie - Complete Forward - Support
Theo Walcott Poacher

Could you guys offer me some tactical advice on how set up the formation with my current side.

I had success with Doncaster Rovers using a formation similar to this. Few tips;

-Change Sagna to Wingback Attack
-Song to Ball Winning Midfielder Defend, this way he stays back and can help when the full backs have gone forward or play him as an anchorman
-Not too sure on the Arsenal stats, but maybe swap Fabregas for Nasri, play Nasri as a Treq or IF and Fab with ADVPM Or (see below)
-Theo Walcott at Treq using the Central Winger by iNick and put Chamakah upfront with RVP as a Targetman or Poacher (again not clear on stats)

You'd never play Walcott as a Treq, keep him as a poacher and he'll be banging in the goals as long as you have players such as Ramsey, Wilshere & Fabregas there to create the chances. In my first season with Arsenal Walcott has scored over 10 ten times in half the games as I play him upfront on his own. You do need an anchor man though if you are playing attacking football with your full backs.
