I have become a huge fan of the 4-6-0 formation and now I want to try and create it with my Arsenal team. Looking through the squad. I think Arsenal has the players to pull it off.

I will be using the destroyer/passer/creator combination in midfield. Song set to Anchor Man - Defend with a defensive mentality, Wilshere - Passer Central Midfield Support and Fabregas - Advance Playmaker - Attack (Creator role).

My forward players will be Nasri - Inside Forward Attack, Van Persie Trequartista and Arshavin - Inside Forward Attack. Van Persie I was thinking of putting Van Persie on a defensive mentality so that he links up with the midfield better and he will be given a high creative freedom.

Team Instructions
Fluid
Control
Shorter - Passing
Creative Freedom - Default
Closing Down - Press More
Marking - Zonal
Tackling - Normal
Crossing - Drilled
Roaming - Default
Defensive Line - Normal
Wide play - mixed
Tempo - Quick

I would like to hear from anyone who has set up a 4-6-0 formation on patch 11.3. Also if you can offer me nay advice on my team instructions and tactical set up that would be great work

It depends on your team, and where the central midfielders are placed, alongside the wingers and attacking midfielders. The 4-6-0 can be of several different ones. For example, the Scotland national team under Craig Levein prior to their match against the superior Czech Republic played with two defensive midfielders, two wingers and two attacking midfielders. The attacking midfielders closed down with the wingers whilst the defensive midfielders stayed back to sit ahead of the central defence. The full backs stayed with them.

It could be:

--- GK ---
RB - RCB -LCB - LB

-- DRCM - DLCM --

AMR - AMRC - AMLC - AML

or:

--- GK ---

RB - RCB - LCB - LB

--- RCM - LCM ---

--- AMRC - AMC - AMC - AMLC ---

At one point, A.S. Roma did the same in a 4-5-1 formation, and had Totti drop deep as a false nine when the majority of their strikers were out injured. But this was a temporary solution. It worked for a while but it wasn't overly-used. If your team doesn't have great attackers struggles in the final third, then you could use defensive midfielders. If not, workaholic central midfielders could act as secondary defenders, and close down the opposite attack before it reaches the defence and causes problems. I have never played the 4-6-0 with success, but it is much more counter-attacking than it is open play with fluidity.

And it drags out the markers to bring out space for inside forwards, or wrong-footed wingers.

4-6-0 really viable? I've tried running one a few times and never had any real luck with it, usually switch back to my 4-2-4.
