I have been struggling with how to set up my Arsenal Midfield for days now. I have been deciding on if I should play 4231 or 433 because they both give me advantage of having 3 men in midfield. I a post on the Destroyer/Passer/Creator combo and I thought that players I have at Arsenal can play those roles well but I have no clue on how to set them up effectively (that is something I am hoping the tactical heads can help with)

My question is how would you advised best setting up the Destroyer/Passer/Creator Combo with Arsenal in a 4231 and 433 formation.

Should I play Wilshere as Central Midfielder Support, Advance Playmaker - Support or Deep Lying Playmaker Support. I really only want one playmaker in my side so at the moment I am kind of edging towards Midfielder - Support.

I would like to hear what the tactical gurus think

This is what id do...

Song - Ball winning midfielder - defend
Wilshere - midfielder - support
Fabregas - advanced playmaker - attack

In my opinion though....I dont like 433 or 4231...but its just a personal preference.

I won the league and champions league first season with Arsenal playing a 442

Thanks Harriers

I also like to play 442 but I can never seem to get it to work with Arsenal my main problem areas are the wings because I can never decide how to play Nasri and Arshavin in a 442. Also how would you play Wilshere in a 442 set up.

If you can give some ideas on your player roles in a 442 then that would be great

Best role for destroyer is ball winning ,defensive midfielder, and anchor man all on defend duty. Song is your best player there.
Passer role is always on support, usually deep lying playmaker/central midfield ,your best player would be Fabregas because he has high creativity and passing.
Lastly for the creator role I mostly play advanced playmaker/ central mid on attack duty ,high flair is a must and arshavin/wilshere is your best player here.

I normally have Wilshere as backup to Fabregas in a 442. I think I played Nasri left and Arshavin right in the midfield.

I you want you can download my 442 tactic from here http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/foot...cs-training/69922-4-4-2-pow-right-kisser.html

Id advise downloading the original tactic as thats the one i used to win things with Arsenal....even if you dont wanna use the tactic, it may give you some ideas of how to implement the 442 for your own tactic

Any recommendations on the destroyer/passer/creator system for a Liverpool midfield trio?

I use the 4-3-3 when im playing away on small pitches, i play a defensive midfielder in the hole, a midfield defend. Then i have the other central midfielder set to advanced playmaker attack with roam from position and move into channels. I play narrow to congest the already small pitch to stop them playing through the middle. I play 2 clicks above slow and a deep back line, i leave the passing to default so i can break quick or pass the ball about so mixing it up. Focus passing down the wings as i have congested the central midfield, so quick breaks through my wings, where i have a inside forward and a winger both set tho attack and a complete forward. I untick playmaker to none as i dont want my team to look more for one player, also set up fluid and to control. Then at home i have a big wide pitch, that i use to play 4-4-2.
