Hi Guys, here is my tactic, used in both counter and control.
View attachment 203761
I am currently in my 5th season in the Scottish premiership and im doing not too bad, but I feel as if we can do better. I mainly use counter away and for hard games and control at home. I seem to be able to win one week then lose the next week. I know using 2 DM can make attacks less effective but ifeel it is a good formation for underdog teams in the Scottish top flight.

Any help or advice including what OI's i could use, would be greatly appreciated.

The tactic is very attacking, especially if you're going to give it a Control mentality. Front 4 all on attack, so no link up play there and 2 'defensive' midfielders, both with support duties will ensure they get to the edge of the box at times. You'll be wide open on the counter attack, possibly even when using counter.

Put simply, the duty allocation is far to aggressive.

One of the defensive midfielders has been changed to a defend duty. I was thinking of changing the AP(A) to AP (s), do you think that would possibly even out the team?

It's a start, but still very attacking. Why do you need all those players bombing forward?

What do you actually want to achieve, exactly? Maybe I can help with that.

I'm trying to play attractive football going forward whilst remaining defensively solid at the back. Possession is key, not losing the ball in dangerous areas and creating chances up front.

Also, I don't want to download other people's tactics for a change, I want to be proud of my own work.

That's a very broad description.

I'll try a broad explanation that may help.

Attack duties (apart from playmakers) will bomb forward ahead of play/where the ball is.

Support duties will keep up with play/support play.

Defend duties stay behind play/the ball.

Ha yea sorry about that. I know what I want to do in my head, trying to put it in words seems to escape me.

Thanks for your description there though. I'll have a mess about and see how I get on. Cheers

All good. Just don't be too aggressive with Attack duties. Looking at your mentality, if you actually want to counter, 1 Attack duty can do it. I prefer 2 or 3 as I don't focus on counter so much (even though I use the same mentality) as a low-risk playing style.

Thanks for your advice mate, very much appreciated.

Just played Hull away in the Europa league. I used the counter tactic and I changed the DM(s) to DM(d), AP(a) to (s) and the right WM(a) to WM(s), I beat them 3-2 and a pretty good all round performance. Im looking at possibly changing the GK to SW(d) or G(d) but will see after the home match against Rangers.
