<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->Iv just started playing with liverpool, my first big club. So far i have had three draws in the premiership and a loss against marseile. Heres my team

GK Reina
DR Arbeloa who pushes back
DL Dosenna who pushes up
DC Carra who stays back
DC Agger who stays back
DMC Masherano
MC Alonso
AMC Gerrard
AMR Kuyt who pushes up
AML Benyeoun who pushes up
FC Torres

i play a short passing game with a attacking mentality. Any ideas for new tactics or who to buy, or sell as i have a tiny transfer budget.

thanks

arbeloa shud be pushing up really and you try playing with 2 DM as that what liverpool are use to and use alonso or gerrard and Playmaker :)

yeah sorry i meant arbleloa pushes up, havnt had a chance to change anythibg roung yet, im currently about to go into halftime 3-0 down to chelsea.

thanks for the tips

ok this realy is going wrong 3-1 loss to chelsea and 1-0 to southamptom in he cup whats going wrong? iv tried changing thing around abit,iv never had this sort of trouble with a smaller team.

don't forget the individual instructions!!!!!! if you set the whole team to attacking its normal you leak and your tactic is comlicated use a 442 with a more offensive mc and another more defensive as said above, use xabi alonso as playmaker I don't have 09 right now, but i am playing 08 and he has like 20 passing and give him high creativity and long shots, give high creativity to forwards and wingers, normal to FB and low for CB use short passing if you want but with the quality of your team you can set it to slightly normal for defenders and slightly direct for the rest of your team, with a higher tempo, if your defenders are fast normal defence line with offside, or slightly high line with offside (only with fast players), get rid of arbeloa I never played liverpool but he must be rubbish anyway, sell unused players and buy srna from shaktar if you still can, and play wide since youve got a better team than most it should do. Honestly, its just the basics of the good teams tactics, why give short passing to a guy that can give you the ball in the feet from 40yard, and more when the receiver is torres. Give free role to xabi and hold ball to mascherano, **** know what to do with it.
Obviously, I suggest you ask for a more defensive approach against big teams but if you put the pressure right (check on the pitch, the midfielders should have constant problems with your closing down WITHOUT OI and little space between them and their attackers, which in most occasions (almost all) you outnumber the opponent offensive and creative ability you can keep the tactics. Set tackling to normal for defnse and hard for mids and forwards, with zonal tight marking for your CBs. Won't always work but it will definetly improve your situation.

Switch over to a 5 defensive mentality, 5 attacking mentality system too. Liverpool don't have a lot of real quality and without careful management will freefall once your new tactic starts leaking goals. Changing the mentality of your fullbacks to that of Mascherano and your centrebacks will also allow them to push on without forgetting they're meant to be defending too (have them mixed runs forward btw unless you're really trying to chase a game - most teams in England will love it when they have a footrace against the liverpool centrebacks for a ball down the channel.)

5 x 5 may not result in many 5-0s with the initial squad in the premiership but it will limit the opposition greatly and if you get some real quality in then it will pay dividends.
