Almedia- Complete forward (Attack) or Pizzaro- Deep Lying (Attack)

Özil- Trequartista

Hunt- Inside forward

Khedira- Box to Box

Marin- Winger

Frings- Deep Lying playmaker/ Defensive Mid

Boenish- Wing Back

Mertesacker- Central Defender (cover)

Naldo- Central Defender (Stopper/Cover) / Sweeper

I need most of Help defensively, Conceded 10 in 9 games

I seem to be very vulnerable on the right flank, I see a lot opposition getting in behind my fullback.

Maybe offensively 20 goals in 9 games

Patrick Helmes is being transferred in during the January Transfer window, (I want to try thins tactic with a poacher up front)

Also I chose this formation because Diamonds create more passing options.

If you want to use a asymmetric multitrata formation, its crucial NOT to give out too much creative freedom and free roles. Your players are not staying withing the shape you want them to( using very fluid + more expressive + default roaming. Try to restrict these things in the setup and take it from there.

As it is now, these diamonds might not occur

Wow, thanks a lot. I can see this helped. Thank You so much, you really know your stuff.

It kinda looks like a mini Chess game. :D

Anyways good luck with your tweaking.

Well, so far I have faced a lot of the 'weaker' opposition in the Bundes Liga. One of the hardest teams I played was Wolfsburg, I won 3-2. But hopefully with what TheBetterHalf told me, my performances will improve.

Lost to Stuttgart 1-0

Lost to Dortmund 2-0

Those are probably the most notable of the loses.

Beat Fenerbahce 2-0, Hannover 4-1.

when you say that they get behind you on the right flank..is this their right flank or behind your left fullback ?. anyway, i suspect that the reason is that they can exploit your left every time without straying offside and then cross or pass the ball into the other flank. I would not use a sweeper+dc combo, its just too risky and I fail to see the benefit of it

No, its actually my right flank (so my right full back i.e Fritz) , but yea I thought that my left was more vulnerable but.... yea.

Also, do you mind explaining the Sweeper+ Dc combo? I mean, the Sweeper just seems like a DC with cover, except the cover does a little bit more... They both pick up through balls/loose balls right?

As you are using a Sweeper, placed further down the field on your right side, the opposition will have no problem playing the ball into the space where you have basically no players at all and they will not get caught offside a single time. The gap you leave there is huge and as the sweeper might also be pulled out of position, getting dragged out left to cover for not having a left fullback when your DC is actually coveinrg out left, their will be gaps just everywhere in your formation. My guess is that mots of your problems is due to this defensively unbalanced formation and that the problem lies in your left flank

You can use a flat 4 at the back but provide one of the DL/R with the role of a Wingback

Should I do the DL or DR, I am thinking DL because Aaron Hunt cuts in as a inside forward and then my DL is on the wing, sort of how Pat Evra plays, when Giggs drifts in.... but then doesn't that leave me weak on the left?

Yes it would

Alright, Thanks again.

By the way, Ill probably look at some of your tactics to learn from them, maybe that's the best way to learn.
