first of all, apologies for starting a new thread.
having always used other peoples tactic. i have been inspired to create my own, the only problem is i have no idea how! daft i know

im hoping that with your help i can achieve this. i have noticed that alot of tactics available seem to have one forward/striker which i am not a big fan of.

i would ideally like to create a 442 formation that implements a slow patient build up that can keep a clean sheet as well as scoring plenty of goals. most importantly i would like the forwards to score the majority of the goals. ( i play as man utd)

i have tried many attempts at this but have always failed due to my lack of tactical knowledge.

any help or advice would be greatly recieve

with thanks

hey mate, like the 007 after your name.... :)

do the tactic creator then, put your fulbacks on support duties, one defender cover one defend (Rio cover, Vidic defend) put your wingers on Attack (Nani and Valencia) one Cm must be a ball winner (Fletcher) to help recycle the ball in the centre and lay it off to the more creative Cm (Scholes/Sahin/Pastore) set at Advanced Playmaker - Attack/Support

One stiker set to Complete Forward - Support (Rooney) and one Poacher - Attack (Hernandez)

then you are going to go into the PI's (Personal instructions) and tweak each players instructions.. for Rooney you would him playing alot of through balls, dropping deep (run from deep never) closing down the whole pitch, moving into channels, holding up the ball, running at defenders and crossing from deep

Hernandez you will have running from deep (always) trying to beat that offside trap running with the ball always, no long shots, no through balls crossing sometimes from the byline and moving into channels...

not going to tell you each persons instructions but you get the idea? play to the players strengths, dont have Scholes running with the ball always, set him to move into channels, roam from position, never run with ball, never run from deep, high creative freedom, through balls often, shoot from range sometimes and passing direct... etc....

PM me if you need anymore help...

cheers raikan007 really appreciate your response.

dont know what most of that means mind but will implement in straight away and see what happens.

last night when pondering my tactic ( i actually mean pulling my hair out ) i remembered a tactic i used on an older version of the game. again my fave 442 but it was set to be a very defensive. this tactic stood out as it was still capable of scoring plenty of goals. cant remember the name or creator of this but i thought about trying it out. had mixed results so far. it seems that while it appeared to create what can only be described as magic it was then followed by a load of ****!!

would love to share it with you raiken007 simply for further advice. but yes you guessed it, i havnt got a clue how to upload it

hit the go advanced button bottom right of the reply box, click the paper clip (attachment) icon, click on upload and browse to find the tactic, upload it and there you go :)

if you want a 4-4-2 I could suggest using this as a template and messing around with it until you get the hang of tactics and what goes into creating them....

Raikan007's Perfect 4-4-2
