Can anyone please offer me some advice on formation and player roles. I am going to start a new save with Arsenal and I am either going to play a 4231 or 424 formation

I am thinking to either play Robin Van Persie and Marouane Chamakh has my strike partnership. I think the best role for Chamakh would be target man support or attack but I am unsure about what role to give Van Persie so that he create and score goals as part of a two striker partnership

The other option would be to play Robin Van Persie as an Attacking Midfielder/Support and Marouane Chamakh as Target Man Attack. Whatever formation I play Fabregas will be in Center Midfield but I am unsure to what role and duty to give him so that he plays well. Jack Wilshere will be playing on the right wing as an inside forward - attack so that he cuts in on his left foot.

I am not very good at understanding this game so any help or advice on formation and player roles would be great

I play RVP as striker only, and Chamakh as a target man. Fabregas CM. Wilshere also inside foward, I think the best setup would be.

Fabregas and Song (ball winner), Nasri and Wilshere as inside forwards and RVP and Chamakh.

My suggestion is : Do not count on RVP because he will be absent almost half season each year due to injury.

It would be much better if you played a 4-2-3-1 instead of a 4-2-4. I am pretty sure that in the long-run, Chamakh will perform worse and be a waste on the pitch as he is much better in the lone striker position. The same is for Van Persie to a certain extent, but he also benefits from a smaller and quicker striker next to him. Complete Forward or Advanced Forward duties are recommended.

I suggest looking at this as well.
