Help with spurs

Hi guys, im wondering if any of you can help me. Im really struggling with fm14, spurs are my team and I just cant get them to play well In the league. Since the game came out I have had 3 attempts as spurs boss and been sacked before December all 3 times! Its driving me insane!

Ive tried my own tactics and downloaded some too and nothing seems to be working! Has anyone else had success with spurs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
 
hello im a big spurs and i always play spurs :), im in season 3 now and season 1 i came 4th & season 2 place 3rd and i won the fa cup :)
i use 4-1-2-2-1 balaced o controlled. i do use 3 differnets tactic with spurs.

in season 2 i used a 4-1-4-1 with a target man"cardozo"
 
Hey Jon25,

Whilst I haven't had quite the same experience in my Spurs save I can totally sympathise. I found my first season in charge very difficult but somehow managed to finish 4th after Arsenal, Everton & Liverpool had some absolute howlers towards the back end of the season.

First season in charge, you have to remember Spurs have had a lot of new players added to the squad who need the time to gel and play together effectively (not to dissimilar to what's happening IRL) not to mention which ever new faces you decide to bring in personally.

Second season now I'm having a lot more success with the following formation. Lots of Team Instructions & Player Roles.

Eriksen & Lamela have been key for me this season. I was worried about scrapping wingers but Lamela last season was complete and utter rubbish on the right wing and has been bang on form for me playing up front with the 'False 9' and 'Shadow Striker' causing havoc too. (Though I change the roles often depending on how the games going).

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will just have to keep trying different things! MisterLSJ your attachments don't seem to work? Would it be possible for both of you to post your tactics on here for me to give me a helping hand? Or some screenhots to give me a few ideas? Thanks again
 
Ive found the same with Tottenham, I managed to pick up Pastore for 21mill pre season so play a 4231 with inside forwards. currently in december and sigurdsson with 9 goals, both striker (soldado and defoe) have three each. tried playing about with roles and formations but nothing seems to get them scoring.

Exactly the same as me mate, I also signed pastore pre season and play the same formation. Always walk the europa group but struggle in the league. Inside forwards play rubbish as do strikers. To be fair the whole team struggle to get an average rating over 7.

Had the same problem, not with Spurs though. Instruct the IFs to shoot less, dribble more and stay wide. This helps.
