Help with Stoke City please :)

Hey guys,

Firstly, hope you're all enjoying FM11 if you're lucky enough to have recieved it already - i'm getting mine today hopefully!

I am going to manage Stoke City when I get the game and I was just wanting some info, tips, etc.

1. Who to sell
2. Who to look for in the youth department
3. Best tactics (or the ones Tony Pulis employs in real life)
4. Weak positions in the squad
5. Good transfer targets to reinforce these positions.

And any more if you think they could be helpful!

You can't go wrong by signing Vaclav Kadlec. He is available for around 1.5 million and will score goals for fun.

Best tactics for Stoke would be fast, direct football. Clearing the ball out to the wingers and getting it into the box.

Stoke City Advise

Although i have owned the game for a month now, i am still yet to properly start my game. Although big plans afoot...

The weak positions in the stoke team are right back and left back. Although a number of players can play either position there are no natural players for said positions. My plan is gonna be to buy a couple of young starlets (Digne or Dodo at LB, RB not sure) and a couple of old 3* freebees and gradually blend in the youngsters learning off the old boys.

I was also concered with the right wing. Pennant is the best player at the club in my game but i have heard rumours that he is not willing to sign after end of season and personally i would never buy anbody over the age of 25 for more than 1m'ish anyway. An amamzing young RM is hard to find in FM11 i have found. Any suggestions???

My other plans are Kadlec up front and heard good things bout griffiths. And areola in net, blending with 'Tommy Sorry-son'.

i might seem harsh but in my opinion anybody else could potentially be sold to fund the purchase of a potential wonderkid.

at the start of the game you can easily sell mama, delap, fuller, tonge, etherington (controversial but i'd rather develop a good young un)

One thing im unsure of is whether to develop begovic. I will need a 4star keeper by season 3, how good does he get? anybody know?

He does turn out quite well easily good enough to be first choice for a couple of seasons
