Would it be a good idea to play Robin Van Persie has a poacher. I am playing a 4-2-3-1 formation with Arsenal. Cesc Fabregas is playing in the AMC positions as an advance playmaker - attack and will be the link between the midfield and the attack. What I want is for Cesc to be playing the final ball through to Van Persie or one of the Inside Forwards. I thought about the poacher role because I want him to stay upfront, get on the final ball from Cesc and the other players in the team.

What is the best way to play Van Persie so that he leads the line and score goals and finishes off moves. I dont want him to be a creative striker so I am not looking for him to be a deep lying forward or trequartista. I just want him to play like a good old fashion number 9 that scores the goals.

Can anyone offer me any tactical advice on how to set him up with role and duty

I play a poacher up top on his own, but I change run from deep to sometimes. But van Persie has ppm drops deep so I'm not sure that would be his best role, however iv never tried him there. I'd play him as a complete forward on support.

i have good experience with arsenal and i use the same formation as well.
you should play RVP as poacher because he does finish 9/10 times when there is a chance. i recommend using "pass into space" so through balls are played into RVP
