Fulham boss Roy Hodgson says he would be "amazed" if the Premier League takes action for fielding a weakened team in their 2-1 loss to Everton.

Sick of this now, Every time someone rests a few players these days they get slated. Fulham have nothing left to play for in the league and have the chance of a cup final.

What is the problem?

This.

Boo-fuckity-hoo, EPL, but the managers pick the players, and they're in their full right to pick exactly who they want to play. if Hodgson signed Ronald McDonald and decided to play him, well that's his decision to make!

The problem is that while they may not have anything left to play for in the league their opponents might. Imagine they´d have to play Chelsea instead of Everton and they´d put on a "weakened" side against them. By doing this the chances for the opposition´s team winning are higher and if Chelsea would win that game, Man Utd would probably complain to the league represetatives about how that match was played.
It´s a system to prevent any sort of conflict that may result from such sort of thing.
The flaw with this system is that every team rests players anyway, if they can´t do it officially they just say this or that player has the flu or whatever.

That much is obvious, but doesn't the manager have the right to decide who he wants to play?

As long as the player is registered for the competition the manager should be able to pick whoever he likes for the first team. Problem is that someone decided to implement this type of pointless rules. As said in my previous post, the system is flawed.

it's the mpst stupid rule ive ever seen but i think you need to punish Fulham because they punished Wolves if they are going to have a rule then they must remain consistant

If they were playing a side like Chelsea, who had something to play for. The chances are no matter what team they put out Chelsea would go for it anyway and Fulham would not be as up for it as they would say 6 weeks before. It's not like Fulham were playing poor players either same with Wolves. The guys they bring in have a point to prove.

Pfft, I'll pay the fine if we get one, if I had money.

Wolves should never of got fined anyway, 9 of that players that played against United were in the same team team that beat West Ham away. We pushed Everton all the way as well and should of got a point :'(

Let me show the FA why is would be silly to fine us.

Schwarzer - Playing at World Cup enough said.
Pantsil - Playing WC with Ghana
Baird - Regular starter and N.I international.
Smalling - England U21 International joining Man United
Shorey - England Cap, Premier League experience
Riise - Norwegian International
Greening - Champions League winner with Man United (H)
Dikcagoi - South African International, playing at World Cup
Dempsey - USA Star player and at World Cup
Nevland - Norwegian International, proven goalscoring record in Norway and Holland, bags of experience.
Okaka - Italian U21 International

Have fun with that FA ^^)

Jack > FA. :P

Agree strongly mate. :)

Wolves should never have been punished. It's the manager's decision. The FA need to sort themselves out instead of undermining club managers who are already under enough pressure.

It was a joke when Wolves got fined. It will be a joke if Fulham get fined.

If FA punishes Fulham, then at this rate in few years FA will decide the lineup and also tactics for both teams. Who knows they might even come up with the chants for players and old chants have to be scrapped.

why isn't the LMA getting involved in this bullshit? if a club plays a "weakened" team and wins, will they still be fined?
