I tried this once as I was near the bottom doing awful. I went on holiday for the season and my Assistant had gotten my team to the play-offs.

Has anyone else done this and their position turned out well ?

I haven't done long simming since Championship manager 98/99 back when i was a young kid who knew nothing about football. I managed to forget i had it simming, went and did some stuff for a few hours and found my team at the bottom of Division 3...

this doesnt really warrant it's own thread tbh and it could go here. I holiday friendlies when I cba and am trying to sign players etc, tho most of the time i do play friendlys

I'll leave this open to share their holidaying experiences if people want. It isn't necessarily a success or a frustration.

did the same as you mate. built a really promising team but was doing rubbish so holidayed the season and my assisstant steered the club to mid table, next season ill actually play and make sure i reach the squad's potential this time

I always choose the team i want for friendlies but holiday them.... then i usually only holiday games which i dont care about but usually it only holidays and in between games i go on holiday... the *** man never usually does well for em though :S

This is pretty much what I do. I sign the best Assistant Man that I can, but I always choose the team and tactics. The results have been satisfactory for me though. It helps me to focus on those aspects of the game that I find more enjoyable - scouting and signing, getting the best staff possible, training the future stars and keeping my team motivated and fit. After that, I can use other people's tactics :)

dont like going on holydays... I dont trust my assistent... :D

I one holidayed through an entire season just to see what happens and my Man Utd Team eneded up 12 in the EPL...oh wait and I got sacked too:)

why would anyone want to go on holiday - the only reason that makes sense to me is if there is friendlies you dont want to play but even then you can just get assistant to take control of them

I usually go on holiday at the end of the season or if I've won the league and there are a few games left. Or rarely when I'm playing teams I know I can beat, dont feel like going through the match so I set the team and tell my *** man not to change it and off I go for a couple of days. When i come back at end of season, I try to come back about 4-5 days before the start of new season expectations so I can wrap up staff contracts and check who's available for free in other clubs. FM isn't just a game, as we all know, it's literally a lifestyle.

I go on holiday between matches sometimes. It saves alot of time, and unless it is transfer season, you don't really get any important news.

However, if I have a match on saturday, then one the net saturday, I would holiday from monday to thursday.

I like to go on a 1 day holiday in order to not waste my team on pointless/very easy matches once I am certain of my tactics, team and final standings.

I never holiday during the season, if i'm doing bad i try to turn it around myself change my tactics etc, feels more rewarding if you manage to save your team rather than your assistant doing it for you.

I always holiday between matches because I get bored just watching the days pass

How do you do that?

You should select the "Team Settings" menu and from there you can choose a lot of settings:

-Let your *** Man take control of press conferences.
- Same for friendly matches
- A lot of settings for your reserve and youth teams.
