Home Grown Players Bugs.

I have been searching on the forum about this topic and seems that a lot of us have been having the same problem.
The issue being that home-grown players, whether trained at club or nation, can be registered as home grown players. However, when trying to register the squad for the Champions League, these players were not counted as home-grown.

Here's the problem that I have:
I am currently on my 5th season with Man Utd and as players age and retire, I am losing more and more home grown players, and as a result I've been buying youngsters and developing my own youth players.
Some have mature nicely and because wonderkids, and have been at the club since 16. Some even younger.
Now when I was viewing my home grown status, the original players like Jonny Evans and Fletcher have a status that says Trained at club (15-21), however the computer generated players, or even Kiko Machedo and Romelu Lukaku (who I bought when he was 17) are classified as Trained at club (0-21).
The 15-21 players can be registered as home grown for both Premier League and Champions League without any problem.
But the 0-21 players can only be registered as home grown for Premier League, the Champions League does not seem to recognise them.

Why is that? Is this a bug?

I've just installed the 11.1.1 patch and the problem is still there.

Anyone could perhaps shine a light as to why this is happening? otherwise I can't play the game....:S

I have been having this issue as well. I can't explain to you why this is happening but I would assume its because the game recognises the coding on players trained 15-21 as HG for CL, and not the coding on HG 0-21. Its basically a massive f*ck up that really needs to be sorted quicker than the usual February update. It renders the CL pretty unplayable after a number of seasons. I have to admit I have found this new FM fairly buggy in a number of areas which is pretty disappointing on the whole, but this bug is just ridiculous.
