My former no1 is getting homesick and no clubs is really up fro him. well manutd did (i reject it right away), but i want a club from his nation (France) to get him.

the row started this Summer, and i let him go back home for a month, then he comes back, but he no longer is my Number 1 anymore as i bought in a better replacement (gk of the year) and i have a young prospect that can perform well. and now nearing to the Winter transfer window he's getting home sick again.
the good thing is that his contract runs out after this season ends, so i didnt touch his contract at all. any way i can get rid of him .
1. via mutal termination (note: i have respect for him , so does all memebrs of the clubs and the fans. will doing this cause and upstart or like the him hating the club and me the manager.
2. releasing him on a free transfer will cost 2.6m. will this work, or my board will stop it.
