If Otto Rehhagel played FM10, what would his tactic be? I would want to play like he did with Greece 2004. By that, I mean loads of defensive work, counterattacks and loads of goals on corners.

So what I would want to know is,

- How to make a REALLY GOOD defensive, counterattacking tactic. How to play against lower/higher teams.

- How to organise corners etc, to score loads of goals on corners

- How to hold on to a 1-0 lead effectively.

Is there anyone that can help me?

i dont know if its anything like greece 2004, but the tactic i use in my cultural leonesa story is very counter attacking with a high emphasis on defence and set pieces. click the link in my sig > 'la cultu smash and grab tactic'

Im not great at defensive tactics but as for corners.

Tall ST - Near post flick on
Good header CB - Attack near post
Corners - To near post

Works really well with me at Spurs

1-0 lead tip, put 2 wingers on the same side (MR+AMR) and set both to - (Run with ball - often)(Wing play - hug touchline)
I usually find this works well wit this formation

--------GK--------
DR--DC--DC--DL
MR-MC-MC-ML (Both MCs id have as box-to-box or 1 box-to-box and 1 ball winning
AMR-------------
------------LS----- (Set striker as target man - run onto ball)

Hope this helps!

Another 'big' thing which helped Greece was that they switched to man-marking. To emulate this you'll have to set your defence and midfield (bar the keeper heh) to specifically man-mark their opposite number. In the real world, this confused the life out of everyone because no-one had done this for about 30 years. In FM, your mileage will probably not be quite as impressive.

hmm.. Can someone go in a bit more advanced, like if im gonna play with TottenhamBois tactic or a simple 4-4-2, attacking/countering play, direct balls, how to set roles etc. Would appreciate it a lot! But yeah, its interesting and i dont think it should be too hard to work since the idea is kinda simple..

Im trying to play

Rigid
Counter
Direct
More Discipline
Standard pressure
standard tacklings
Man/man markings
standard crosses
standard movements

and TottenhamBois corner tactic, a simple 4-4-2. Would this be good? anything to add?

I found an excellent corner tactic just need to fix a bit on the game tactics

And how should I play against bad teams? Offensive/Control?

Greece never played 5 at the back in Euro 2004. Rehaggel does it now because of the amount of quality CBs we have. We played 4-3-3 and unlike most people think it wasnt anywhere near park the bus and hope for the best. not till 1-0 at least.

Seitaridis Dellas Kapsis Fyssas
3 of Zagorakis / Karagounis / Katsouranis / Basinas in midfield. roles would vary.

2 of Xaristeas vryzas (poacher type players) gianakopoulos karagounis (inside forward types playing opposite of their good foot mostly) on the wings
1 of xaristeas nikolaidis vryzas up front.

Most often than not the full backs would overlap (unless under huge pressure like with the Czechs, or when holding on to a lead).

The wide men were inside forwards with freedom to roam arround and more importantly drop deep to defend usually.

Anyway its impossible to make a plug and play tactic for it. it was more about man marking as said. and after that adapting to the situation with OIs.

It was a ''4-5-1'' if i understood right? This is very hard to implemnt in the game
