How do I get my CB's to come closer to the keeper to get the ball?

I'm playing with barcelona, and I want pique and puyol to co,e really close to valdes to get the ball like in real life, instead hmi kicking the ball forward and losing it.

Defender collect and distribution to one of your fullbacks, or middle CB if you use 3 CBs. Works almost every time, goalkeeper should get pass rating around 85%. If it doesn't work, then your goalkeeper is an idiot.
