How do you find free players?

I just saw that Owen Hargreaves went to Schalke after the first season. I would have loved to have signed him, but now it's too late. Is there anyway I can see who are available for free transfers?

Use filters when searching for players. You can search for players contracts that will run out soon, or players out of contract/that have a player value of 0, (they do the same thing) to find currently unattached players.

get a scout report on the required position to see the best

also you can remove realistic targets, as if they leave a club and not on a bosman, they may join your time while unattached
