How do you upload screenshots?

It's probably me being stupid, but I cannot figure out how to do this.

I know you have to 'post reply' and click on the paperclip for adding attachments, but i can't get the picture of the screenshot on my laptop as a file to upload. can someone give a step-by-step guide please. literally from the very beginning.

what i do is i post reply then edit the reply click edit again and scroll down and click manage attachments then click browse find your screenshots then click it then click upload.

no, sorry, i don't think i explained my problem well. i know how to get them onto the site once i've got them. what i don't know how to do is get the screenshots to start with.

Press 'Print Screen' and paste into Paint or Alt+F9 and then upload. (They are saved in your screenshot folder).
