How good is this PC?

In a new PC nowadays I'd always get a SSD. Graphic card is low end, but if the only game you'll be playing is FM it's good enough.

I'd also recommend a SSD (Solid State Drive) but they are very expensive and offer little Storage Space so if Size is more important to you than Speed, go with the HHD.

Graphics card is between NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M in new pennies. Can pick up the AMD card it comes with for less than £45. The RAM is only 1333MHz but that is fine, 8Gig is kinda minimum if you want to do anything pushing high-end gaming. 3.8Ghz is absolutely groovy.

More than enough to max out FM - it's balanced for what it is, SSD is optional to speed things up in general but, if it's a gaming rig you're after, sod the SSD, up the graphics (GPU).

This isn't 2007 anymore: AMD are actually decent now.

As for the rig, build one yourself. Seriously, it's dead easy, takes 2 hours tops, and you save a small fortune + get to tailor it to your exact needs.

Yeah got to agree on both counts I've got a AMD A10 7850k after previously having an intel and it's fine well better than fine I'd go as far to say after the price difference I'll probably never get an Intel again.

as for building one yourself Subtle is also right I mean I have experience with software etc but never built a PC I then decided to be brave and build my current pc in the summer and aside from saving a little over 150 quid, it really is straightforward and there are lots of YouTube tutorials on it. It's probably harder to put it together incorrectly lol. But you should seriously consider it.

Forums @ pcspecialist.co.uk will talk you through build. They will also build for you to your exact req's but, well, that kind of defeats the purpose.

If its only for Football Manager its good enough, however the price is a little steep for what your getting. You get a below average CPU and a low end GPU that will not run other new games very well. You'd playing at sub 1080p and lower settings for current games now, never mind newer releases down the line.
Also the PSU is made by "Aerocool" they are a terrible brand for PSU and when that PC actually stretches its legs and runs a game more demanding than football manager it will probably blow and could take other components with it.

If you have the patience to build a PC your self from ordered parts that is the way to go, you will get by fat the best performance/value.

Use the site Pick Parts, Build Your PC, Compare and Share - PCPartPicker to pick your parts and order them, then put them together when you get them all, its easy enough and there are many you tube videos that will help.

Have a look at this build I put together AMD FX-8320, XFX Radeon R9 270X, Cooler Master K280 - System Build - PCPartPicker United Kingdom

It is stronger in everyway than the PC you listed and a little cheaper, you could even pay for a local PC shop to put the componants together for you if you dont feel confident.
That build will max out most games for a while yet and will only stuggle on horribly optimized games like Watch Dogs, or anything Ubisoft make.

And Nvidia > all due to Physx.

All depends on what else other than FM you are going to be doing with your PC though.

Nvidia if your not on a budget, the Nvdia GPU in the same price range as the 270X is probably a 660, its not quite as powerful as the r9 270x and the 660 is now 3 years old.
Only card Nvidia do that is value for money is the 970. you get the EVGA branded one for about £260 on most websites.
That will be my next upgrade when I move on from my 7850.
