How to Add a Transfer Embargo to a Club.

This is a quick guide to help people to add a transfer embargo to FM11.
There are a few other guide's about which did help me abit but were also abit confusing:

Step 1: Open the following file:

Computer/Local Disk/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/common/football manager 2011/data/updates/update-1130/db/1130/edt

then open the file (Transfer_embargo) with notepad

Step 2: you should see the following data:

# Transfer Embargo parameters:
# "TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Club Name" "Start Date" "End Date" "Appeal Date"
# e.g "TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Chelsea" "15/02/2010" "15/02/2011" "10/02/2010"

"TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Portsmouth" "30/06/2010" "30/09/2010" "01/01/1900"

Step 3: copy and paste the bottom line ("TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Portsmouth" "30/06/2010" "30/09/2010" "01/01/1900") then change the name of the club to the one you want to give the transfer embargo to and change the dates to when you want the embargo to end.

Example I have given Chelsea a transfer embargo which ends in 2100.

# "TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Club Name" "Start Date" "End Date" "Appeal Date"
# e.g "TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Chelsea" "15/02/2010" "15/02/2011" "10/02/2010"

"TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Portsmouth" "30/06/2010" "30/09/2010" "01/01/1900"
"TRANSFER_EMBARGO" "Chelsea" "30/06/2010" "30/09/2100" "01/01/1900"

Step 4: Save this document and start a new game

please note this will only work on patch 11.3 if you want to use it on any of the older updates you need to open up the update for that patch and edit it there.

I think it will be much easier if you use FMRTE. Load game > click current screen > finance > transfer embargo set the date.

What if someone doesn't want to use FMRTE ? Do you know FMRTE can corrupt your save ? FMRTE can cause even crash dump.
Will, nice guide, it going to be useful for lots of people

this would work with editor data right, say if I put "Awesome United" that would work if it's a club yes?

when i try and save it says it cannot create and then goes through all the folders :/
