I play as Blackburn with a 4-3-1-2 and I struggle against teams who use their entire midfield to attack the wings. My defense usually responds to an attack on the wings by shifting to that side and then the AI crosses to just outside of the top of the box - which 90% of the time is intercepted but if it gets through my defense is exposed to a through ball to either of their strikers.

Is this a problem inherent in my formation or could I fix it with different roles? I currently have both fullbacks set to defend as well as the CDs being defend. My MC is a DLP with support, RW is W with attack, and LW is WM with support.

I get opened up equally on both sides.

Thanks a lot. I will try some of that stuff out. I found the opposition instructions breakdown very helpful.
