I have a 17 year old youngster whose skills are amazing except for dribbling and technique attributes. I want to ensure these are the skills that get trained.

For his training schedule though, I can set Ball Control, Attacking, Shooting all to Intensive with a decent strength / aerobic program and his workload is still only Heavy.

To ensure that it's the dribbling and technique skills that increase, should I *only* put Ball Control on intensive and lower the other ones, giving him a medium workload?

You can also have dribbling or technique as a specific training till it's up to par and you can have him tutored by a player that has high dribbling and technique stats.

NO! Tutoring only works on PPM's, personality and determination. It has nothing to do with other stats. If you want to increase his technique and dribbling, set his "individual training" on technique or dribbling. Also, make him a special schedule with tactic and ball control on intense, everything else on medium ( except GK-stats and defense ).

Tutoring helps in stat development, but not like DMuusers said (at least not after my experience). It's more like if the player has a good tutor which he is getting along well with, most of his stats will develop better / faster during the tutoring. But it's not like if the tutor has high technique, the trainee will rise his technique skill more...

I have seen that setting Ball Control, Attacking, Shooting all to Intensive, the players stats dont seem to really improve.. I have similar players as you mention and put them on medium/high and they are improving more.
