So, I got a 3 step plan on how to reduce the amount that you pay for a player (this works for wages as well)

1. First, put a normal bid in. They should normally negotiate.

2. Then if you scouted him, look at his Estimated Cost (or Wages) and put it like a few hundred thousand lower but don't negotiate yet.

3. The important part, if you never want to sell the guy, put a 50% sell on fee on the player. They should accept.

Thats it. In 5 years you should see the differences in the finances and save up to 5m on player fees. Hope this helped. ;)

Speaking of 3, if I got it right, I use it, too. Means that when you negotiate a contract with a player you can set an option in it that gives the player 50% (or less) of the transfer fee if you sell him in the future. BUT if you're 100% sure that you aren't going to sell that player (that is, works especially well with older players) then you can easily use this optiion. Having it in his contract, a player usually agrees for a (sometimes significantly) lower wages and lower different bonuses.
You can also use some other options to lower the player's wages, for example:
1. Set Relegation Release Clause to 0 if you're sure you won't relegate
2. Use Goal Bonus for players you do not expect to score many goals.
3. Use International Cap Bonus for players you do not expect to play for a national team (works especially fine in lower leagues with them ****** players).
Sorry for my English :)

I have a big problem with this thread if the user thinks what they're doing isn't cheating the game engine.

Because it is.

And an even BIGGER problem if ANY of you who have posted positively on the topic yet still COMPLAIN to SI Games about the match engine. Major discrepancy there and hypocritical if you ask me. Not to mention a deterrent of sorts... but I digress!

I was just stating a thing on here. I don't even have an account on SI Games. I just found it out while playing.

It isn't cheating the game, it's called being smart. It's like if a German player wants 50 k a week, you can offer him 25 k and 150 k after an international appearance. It's not my fault the game doesn't allow German players to player for the National team.

Will give it a go in the next transfer window

Now, please teach me to sell my players for more than their value. Because, barring some youngsters, I can never manage this. -__-

first post.... i tried to follow what you said but i cant seem to understand what it is you're saying

Basically, transfer list and set to not needed, but put their offer price to more. Look for the WNT thing as well. :)

First, put a bid for slightly lower than their value. They should negotiate higher.

Second, either scout him and wait for 2 days or if you have already, look at the estimated cost and put it like 400k lower.

Finally, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, add either add a sell on clause if you won't sell him, put a 0 on the relegation clause if you know if you will not get relegated, or put a international appearances wage improvement if you know your player will not get a cap.

so your final part is about selling a player

I don't think it's cheating i just think it's quite unrealistic

this is basically just offering a contract the player might be more attracted to.
i still dont get it how to get the opposition team to accept the bid.

Uh... No. It is most certainly not. Sell on clause if you Won't sell him.

but that is only when you are already negotiating the contract. those options are not for when you are offering a bid to buy him.
