How to give/setup a testimonial?

I've had a regen at my club for 12 seasons and before I let him go I want to play his testimonial, can someone tell me how to set this up?
 
Was he one of/the best player at your club? If not, then I don't think you can have a testimonial match for him.
 
Yes he's been voted player of the year 7 seasons running and has legend status at the club
 
fixtures -> Arrange Friendly

The option is on the right hand side of the screen where you choose who you want to play, home/away etc.

Doubt that'd be the case to be honest. It COULD be, I am not 100% sure but it'd seem daft. If a player has been loyal to your club for a long time, he deserves a testimonial regardless of how good he was. Take Steve Harper at Newcastle as an example.
 
Tried going through the friendly part but there was no option there then at the beginning of his 13th season at my club the board arranged one themselves with Chelsea who I originally bought him from which I won 5-1, unfortunately he didn't get a goal :(
