How to make a successful 4-2-3-1 ?

I want to make a 4-2-3-1 with 2 wide AM's ( 1 a IF and other a W ) and also 2 MC's.

However, when I do, I always concede goals and always have 10+ shots at my goal, no matter what team I play against. How can I improve defensively ?

I haven't played 4231 much on fm13 but for your defensive problems it depends what and where the shots come from. If they mostly come from the centre you could have a more defensive minded MC or it could be due to lack of pressing (standing off opposition players)
