how to make wingers track back?

im using a 4-2-2-2 tactics which is both wingers are further up than original 4-4-2 at the AML/R position but i have a difficulties which is the wingers didnt track back and just staying at their respective position.
please guys help me with this.

Either lower their closing down, or have them on support duty

Can you show the formation screenshot?
Try adjusting the mentality not to really attacking, or maybe a bit creative freedom & roaming.
