How to make your best player coach??

Many of us have noticed that many player have "Looking to enter into a coaching role..." in long term plans of a player.

However, when the player retires, he vanishes!! I would love to get certain players into my coaching staff as a coach or even as an assistant manager! Is there anyway I can do that?? Any editors around? or anything inside the game?? Please help!!

I was looking forward to make Van Der Saar my GK coach. His long term plans stated "Interested in Coaching". However, after his retirement i cant find him anywhere!!

Dont you love to have club icons such as Gerrard/Lampard/Giggs/Scholes/Xavi/Puyol/Raul/Guti/Del Piero/Totti/Zanetti etc. in a coaching role or maybe an assistant manager after their retirement?? It certainly would make my FM experience even better!!

just go onto player interaction and say they would make a good coach or manager etc.

I have had Puyol as coach, he sucked If Van Der Saar retired before you were able to sign him as coach, then you can't find him again.

this does happen mate...

you have to offer them a new contract just before they retire... once their player contract expires and they have set a retirement date they might just retire completely.. or become unnatacched as a Coach and never come back!

so make sure you offer them a staff contract before retirement! some players no matter what they say they want to do will just retire completely..

I used to do the same in FM10, but I dont have that option in FM11 Plus that "You will make a good coach" conversation can be made with the player only if he is at your club at the moment For example, if I want Raul as a coach at Madrid, I cant make that conversation as he is at Schalke!!

So I was wondering if there is a way out!!

i was thinking of editing their potential attributes once i get them as a coach

of course you cannot have conversations with players that are not at your club...

if you are going to use any type of editing tool why not just edit them to become coaches and change teams etc etc?

I had Raul as my assistant manager in FM10! We wont loads of trophies at Madrid. Then he got a manager job from Man City and left Madrid! It was great to get team reports from him!!

I was hoping to do the same this time as well. However, as he is at Schalke now, he set a retirement date. I no more can find the "You ll make a good coach" option as he does not belong to my club. I feared that he may get lost forever, transferred him to my club via the player swap option in FMRTE. However I still could not find the option as he already has set a retirement date!!

Maybe is it possible to remove the retirement date using FMRTE??

I also got Van Der Vaart as my assistant manager,he was great!
All i did was interact with him and offer him a position.

Looks like i cant remove the retirement date using FMRTE i just can change the dates :'(
