How to Really Improve a National Team?

Hello all, I've been reading these forums for awhile but just decided to post(H)


I'm thinking of doing an international save, but I have a question for those of you that have done one before:

Do I have control over a country's regens? For example, can I in some way help clubs in my country get better regens to improve my team? I want to take over Bulgaria, who aren't exactly world-beaters. A few good regens would greatly benefit my team.

best way is to manage a club from the country as well and develop their infrastructure.

Yeah, player regens and development are really out of your control when you manage a nation. The best you can do is manage a team in that country as well as be national manager as mentioned above.

Don't mean to hijack the thread slightly, but does winning competitions with the national team increase the youth rating in that country? Say for instance, I won the Euro's and World Cup with England, would that increase the likely hood of better regens coming through in England?

I only ask, because I vaguely remember when I had a save with Athletic, after Spain had won both Euro's and World Cup (in game), I noticed a lot more quality regens coming through my intake, as well as other Spanish teams...

Not that I know of, but I certainly wish that was the case.

So it's going to be very difficult to get Australia to be not **** then? Just like real life I suppose

I find there are always a couple of decent Australian regens every year, but the fail to get spotted by clubs abroad until it's too late to train them to be world class

I've noticed that, as well as it's REALLY ****** hard to sign an Aussie player due to work permits, etc. By the time you can get them playing first team they've already wasted potential and have either had a work permit denied or have been on loan to an awful team for four years, it's not worth the hassle. I still try, because I'd love to see them do well.
