How to receive compensation for players?

When they enter into last 6 months of contracts. Is it possible even after that?

I've always had trouble hanging onto my better players on FM. And if they're loyal they request huge wages (a player worth 200.000 euro a year request 500k) because my club is getting rich.

You can only get Compensation if they are a certain age when there contracts end
