I have a player who wanted a new contract, but his wage demands were very slightly too much. He's arguably my best player.

I was in the middle of selling a fringe player and planned to use the funds for a wage budget increase.

I went on "holiday" as I sometimes tend to do between matches, during which my star player requested a transfer because he wasn't being offered the contract he wanted, and my tool of an assistant manager granted his request.

Now I can't remove him from the transfer list. The option to do so is grayed out. I put him in the reserves and he responded by "wanting to prove his worth to the club". His average rating has been 8.2 in the 3 games he's played since!

Does anybody know how I can get him off the transfer list? He has 3 years left on his contract and I really don't want to get rid of him for a cut-price.

You cant I dont think he needs to request to be taken off-teach ya not to go on holiday! XD Maybe keep on playing him and try and reduce your wage budget to give him a better contract

I think you'll have to wait till he asks to be taken off so just play him like normal and he should ask eventually.

Send him to Argentina for 6 months to play golf :P

He should eventually settle and request to be taken off.

Haha!

Cheers guys. He seems happy enough in all other aspects. I'll reject all bids for him, unless they are ridiculous.

Keep playing him, and offer new contracts if you can? He should eventually ask to be taken off if you keep him happy

What the other guys said. If he asked to be transfered, he have to ask to be removed from the list aswell. If he already wants to prove his worth to the club, he's on his way there. Just keep playing him and keep him happy.

The argentinian golf vacation is pretty tempting sometimes, though ;)

Had exactly the same problem except it was because he didn't play enough. I played him, still didn't request to stay so I offered him a new contract and he asked for the same money just with an extra year and he then requested to stay. On the short offer him a contract, he may just reject you though so you best "talk to player" first.
