Hello all, I have tried lots of different teams and I always end up underacheiving. I recently finished a season with Q.P.R and got relegated and I want to try again and would like advice on how to set up a tactic for any team in general.

What I have trouble with is deciding upon what team instructions and player instructions to choose (e.g. what mentality to use and what to set my players' roles to)

Many thanks :)

Basically, you have 3 options.

- Setup a tactic that exploits as many ME-weaknesses as possible ( trial & error)
- Setup a tactic that would work in theory based on real life knowledge about football
- Setup a tactic that suits not only your team ( status and ability) but also the actual players.

If opting for the last 2 options, then the first thing to do is to understand what the different strategies, philos means and how they work. Learning what the difference is between having the counter box ticked or unticked, what it actually mean. Knowing what the Time wasting slider is and how to know if the team has balance in it in terms of attacking and defensive skills. In short, learning what to look for.

When knowing this, you need to make a decision whether you want to tinker with the tactic before every game and use the shouts in game or if you want to plug & play.

When i play a save, I sometimes plug & play and sometimes, I make a tactic based on the players and the current circumstances. have a look in the link beneath to see my reasoning for making tactical decision for a specific teams.

I've replayed the same match over and over again (Hull away) and my results have been (all wins for Hull):
2 - 0
4 - 1 (I scored first)
1 - 0
2 - 0
I've changed the tactics around each time but nothing is changing in terms of the result.

Maybe it's just because it's a tough fixture?

Not only that, you can't win every game, realistically; you need to be willing to learn from losses and adapt based on that. Look at the stats; why did they win?

Did they out pass you? Did you give away a lot of fouls?
