Hi guys!

I've been hanging around this place for a long time without posting but decided it was time now.

What I would like to ask is how you go about setting up your pre-sesasons. How many games do you arrange and what type of games? Do you focus on building morale or pitting your team against strong teams to challenge the players? Do you go abroad to generate support and bring more money to your club?

I'm currently in a save managing Man Utd and I guess that the setup of pre-season would differ according to what team you play...

welcome :)

this is what I do: (I always rearrange my friendlies as they are very important for a number of reasons)

1) cancel extremely difficult games vs the likes of Inter/Utd/Milan & friendlies less than 5 days apart

2) arrange friendlies with at least 6 days rest period between vs similar repuation teams so you can get a good idea on how your tactic will work in the league you are playing in

3) pre-season tours can be done as well just for fun and can help increase your profile (especially if you have a commercial link there)

4) arrange 1 really easy game before the start of the season (keeping in mind the points above) to boost morale and confidence with a big win prior to kickoff

5) yes they do change regarding what team you manage, I always like to play Santos, Celtic, Leicster etc as Utd

I hope that helps and clears things up a bit mate...

First season I try to make the friendlies the same as in real life. :P

After that I tend to follow a similar pattern of the friendlies in the first season, just with different teams that are from a similar region/level. Sometimes I mix things up though.

i start of with small teams moving to a big team for the last game of the pre season. I play my starting 11 for the first 45mins changing everyone over at half time. And i play about 6 games

Im with Elgin City at the min. I get 13 to 15 pre-season games in with Big teams earning 40K a match. I even have loads of games on the trot with out rest (big squad). racked in 300K this pre-season.
