How to stop players switching off?

I was just wondering if there is any effective way to prevent players from suddenly switching off during a game. Quite a few times I've had 2-0/3-0 leads and ended up losing and I can't quite figure out why it happens.

I think its all about Concentration stat

Maybe to do with half time team talks?

I'm guessing it's both of those, I usually tell them to not get complacent at half time and looking at their concentration it is pretty poor. Thanks
