Hello guys

Share your methods for creating tactics.
By this I mean: how do you create a very good tactic, for example plug and play?

Some people start with the roles and no instructions, then adds instructions when they see stuff are not working.

Personally I do the opposite, I can add a lot of instructions, also PI´s, theoretically what I think is going to work.
Then I add and remove instructions and so on

I also started using FMRTE to get the tactics fully fluid

It's the most logical way of doing it. Start "vanilla" and tweak from there. Thing is, even with that vanilla tactic, it'd still be a good tactic and good place to start. It's then just a matter of fine-tuning to get everyone into their own space etc.

Then how do you know what to remove? Most tactics I see on here have 15+ instructions and half of them make no real world sense. It sounds like you just hope to get lucky and find a combination that somehow works.

There's FMC for that too.

How I create tactics, if you sort by current ability and then start putting your players into starting positions. This will help shape how you will play and the formation you select.

If you find you have 2 very good wingers and a target man, then you will know the best attacking method will be to have the ball played down the wings and get the crosses into the target man.

I also find it a good idea to play up to the best attributes of your players, so if you have a fast skillful winger, make sure he is "running with the ball more often", or if you have a good midfielder with high passing and vision, then get him to play more direct through balls.

The best way to explain is to create tactics based on the players you have in your team. Barcelona have short technical players, so they play a passing game. Stoke in the past had big strong players, so they played to that strength, you need to do the same when creating a tactic on FM.
