I am playing this game for 5 years or more.I am the silliest person or human being ever to play this coz I cant even bother to create my own tactic I always loot here :(. When I tried to create my own tactic I failed.. All tactics that I have done always sucked :(. I did everything I read everything about tactics (closing down, tackling, positioning, best winger should have pace acceleration etc etc) I read all clues about FM I even read the book about this but I cant create.. :(
 
Take your time with it, don't just throw a load of instructions together and expect it to work. Throughout a season keep tweaking it and eventually you should be able to make at least a decent tactic. Also read the TT&F guide, helps massively.
 
You're not the only one, mate. I'm finding this game hard as well, I've only just bought it though so there's plenty of time to get used to it. Still find it enjoyable though.

this. im actually suprised at how many people dont read TT&F. Its basically the FM'10 bible.

on an aside there is a massive guide coming about how attributes work together, and which attributes are needed in a certain move or situation, ive seen the first bit in si forum, and its staggeringly good already
 
you can have J P Woody's tactic and still fail miserabley.. don't make a tactic that you think will score goals. Make a tactic that incorporates yur players strneghts and make sure each player is playing in their strongest position if possible.
