Just started my fourth season with Liverpool and scoring hasn't been a problem until now. I spent on my defence in the summer but now I just keep recording 0-0s. Perfect example is the carling cup 3rd round vs Swansea. Eventually I won on penalties. Here are the match stats from that match and my tactics. Please could someone advise me on how to start converting chances. I mean 60% possession, Good! 80% passing , Good! 20 Shots ! BUT only two on target...what ze ****. The team on the screenie isn't startin eleven. :D Thanks!

Stop your team shooting from distance as that is probably breaking down your moves

check you game analysis, i bet it shows few passes into the box. you got lots of possession but the passes arent penetrating ones. work the ball into the box, pass into space, use the overlap

Sell Gomis, he never does much in my games, and dont play Kuyt as an AMC.

Cheers and as I mentioned thats not my starting eleven. Striker choice would go Torres, Kuyt, Trezeguet, Gomis. I got Gomis as a panic loan because Torres got injured on 29th of August. I agree hes rubbish

Put Kuyt up front and Silva behind him as an advanced playmaker.

You use a very deep Defensive Line and at the same time you have set the tactic to be Balanced and Control. A Control tactic is based on the idea that you have superior to your opponent.

1. I can see that you have many blocked shots. That suggests that you you have problems with your long shots. If you use a Playmaker, remove his Long Shots.

2. In that tactic where you have 2 strikers and 2 Support MC's. You might want to remove the Long Shots form your AMC's.

3. You have set the system to Man Marking. SI games themselves have admitted that it does not work properly. Use Zonal Marking. This will also free up your players in the transition face when you win the ball and have to start a push forward.

4. Your Backs. They are set to Auto. Have them set to Attack (when you play Control or Offensive). They only need Run From Deep and Run With Ball set to Sometimes. And have there Mentality set to about the same as your central midfielders. This will allow them to offer width and help open your opponents defense.

5. Your Wide Play should be very high when you want to use Control or Offensive tactics. Your opponent will stand deep and play slow. So they will not leave there position easily. Wide Play will allow you to drag them away from there position and open the center of the pitch.

6. Set one of your AMC players to Run With Ball Often and the other one with Run From Deep Often. They will be able to hold the ball and lure the defenders away from the Defensive Line. While the other AMC will be able to run at the Goal.
