First of all i'm really not great with computers so I might be missing something really obvious here but, I tried starting FM 11 from the shortcut in my desktop and got this message 'Error: Unable to find essential data. Please ensure that the game is installed correctly. If the problem persists, please contact technical support.'
So I thought there may be a problem with my shortcut so I went:
Computer > OS (C>: ) Program Files > Sports Interactive and then tried to launch it from the icon in that folder, resulting in the same error message. So I thought i'd be better off uninstalling it all together, go onto control panel click uninstall on the FM 11 icon and it comes up with 'The LaunchAnywhere properties file is missing'.
I had a look around on google to see if anyone had the same kind of problem and the most frequent advice was to install it again on Stream. So I opened my stream and installed it again, which all worked. But when I went back on the program files to the editor I got the same 'Error: Unable to find essential data...'
Went onto the control panel again and there were two FM11 icons, one which was installed on todays date and the other installed in 2010. I tried uninstalling them and the most recent went with no problems but the other keeps coming up with the same LaunchAnywhere error message.
If anyone has any idea how I can just completely get rid of FM11 from my computer so I can start a fresh i'd be very grateful, thanks.

Just some additional information, i've installed it from the disc again now, and when I look on the programs and features on the control panel there are two FM11 icons - one that has a publisher of SI games installed on todays date (2.50 GB) and the other has a publisher of Sports Interactive and was installed 18/11/2010 (106 MB). When I try and uninstall the most recent one it does with no problem, but when I try and uninstall the Sports Interactive one that was installed in 2010 it starts off with my Avast! telling me that the application may be unsafe, advicing me to open it in sandbox (not sure what that means?) and then regardless whether I choose to open it in sandbox or normally an error comes up saying 'The LaunchAnywhere properties file is missing'.
I've looked around the internet for anyone who's had a similar problem but I can't find anything. If anyone knows anything that may help, again, i'd be very grateful, thanks.

Fixed it all now, had a feeling it would be a straight forward fix. I think the problem came about because I first installed the game in offline mode, then uninstalled and reinstalled it with steam and there must have been some leftover files.
If anyone is having a similar problem the was I fixed was to go into program files > Sports Interactive then just delete the Football Manager 2011 folder. I did to delete the Sports Interactive folder before posting this question but it wouldn't let me.
