I found a way to use FM2013 teams in FM2014

After putting a lot of hours into a game in FM2013, I was delighted to find a way of using the squads in my FM2014 game.
Please don't misunderstand me, to my knowledge it is not possible to load up old GAMES in the new version, but any SQUADS that were exported for online play or vs mode CAN be used in FM2014 online/vs mode.

So I just copied the "Exported Teams" folder straight across from the 2013 folder in Documents to the 2014 folder in the same place, fired it up, and at first it said that it could not load the team, but did in fact load. I tested it out against a default team and managed to set up a tournament no problem and play a match without any errors at all with my classic squads intact. So if it gives you an error or looks like it didn't work at first, just proceed anyway.

It's brilliant because I have mates who have FM2014 but not FM2013, and now I can challenge them with my epic squads from the old game.

Please don't flame me if this is obvious to anyone, I googled it before trying it and couldn't find it anywhere, so just thought I'd post it up for anyone who might find it useful at all.

Yeah, xml files and editor data carry accross as well for the most part, its only the stuff they've oveerhauled like tactics creation that is new and wont. The basic data and ID codes are the same.

Really happy with this feature, it's like the best of both worlds in my opinion- a new (albeit subtly) improved game, but semi-portable from the old one.

I think they should have advertised better that it's possible though, or made it an actual option within the game to copy old files over, or maybe just point the new game to old graphics folders instead of having to duplicate.

Still, really cool not to have completely lost all those "well-spent" hours

You can point the game to old graphics folders, change the default directory in the preferences,

Can you also import normal saves from FM 13 to FM 14?
