I go again

Steven Gerrard is widely regarded as the best player in Liverpool history. He won several accolades whilst at the club, inducing the famous Champions League victory in 2005. He also played a huge part in winning the FA Cup a year later after scoring a stunning equaliser a year later. He has also won several personal awards in his career including: 2000/01 English Players' young player of the year, 2004/05 European Champions Cup Best Player, 2005/06 English Players' player of the year and 2008/09 English footballer of the year.

Things took a turn for the worst for Gerrard in 2014 though, after his infamous slip against Chelsea, and suffering a torrid World Cup as captain after England got dumped out in the group stages.

Gerrard announced in 2015 that he would be leaving Liverpool and moving on to LA Galaxy. In his time at LA Galaxy he won 2015 MLS Newcomer of the year and was also names the 2019 Supporters player of the year. He also holds the record for most assists in one season for LA Galaxy.

Having now retired, Gerrard is looking to take a step into management, and try pick up where he left off his player career.

It did not take long for Gerrard to find a job in management. He was today announced as manager of Huddersfield Town. They are currently enduring a tough season and are currently in 16th in the Championship after being relegated from the Premiership last season. Chairman Dean Hoyle is keen to get the club back into the Premiership and is rumoured to have given Gerrard a hefty transfer budget of £22 Million.

Gerrards aim this season will be to ensure that the club does not slip any further down the table and perhaps have an outside chance of reaching the play-offs. Next season is when the hard work will properly begin.

Amazing start, I'm currently doing a Liverpool save and I am personally gutted that Gerrard will be leaving after my first season, at least I get to have that one season with him as Captain :)
