i have a really weired problem installing the game

hello everyone..
i'm new here and unfortunately, my first post is a problem i have and i hope to find help

i don't know if it is considered FM problem or not but i thought to ask for help here and you'll find out why that is

my problem is that i bought FM2009 but when i put it in my laptop, it just doesn't read it.. the autoplay doesn't start and when i check from "my computer" it asks me to insert a disc
at first i thought that might be hardware problem so i checked other CDs/DVDs and they all worked fine.. then, i tought that the FM disc was corrupted or something so i tried it in another laptop and it worked just fine

so the reason i'm posting this here is that only FM2009 doesn't work.. did anyone have my problem or something similar!!

and by the way, my laptop meets end exceeds all the requirements of the game
 
From windows click on my computer.Go down to DVD drive and right click and then hit explore and then insert disc.let me know if this works.
 
no.. i tried it before and tried again
i tried hitting explore before putting the disc and after.. but nothing seems to work

my computer just acts as if the drive is empty.. and only with FM2009
i even tried many of my previous versions of FM and also CM and all work perfectly fine except 2009
 
When you tried fm on a different computer did you create a steam account?
 
i didn't do anything.. i just inserted it to check if the disc was corrupted but it started the autoplay normally.. then i removed it
 
OK,you may or may not know but once you have installed the game through steam you dont need to use the disc anymore.I have a mate who had almost exactly the same problem as yours and this is how he got round it:
He installed the game on a different laptop through steam and created a steam account,really easy to do.He then went onto the laptop that the game wouldn't work on ,googled steam then downloaded steam to his laptop,he then logged on to his steam account he created earlier and the game was there.No need for the disc at all mate.

im having the same problem, all my other games work so i rang the store i bought it from they said pop that disc back and they will give me another one,so i take it back and they give me another copy only for the same thing to happen the disc drive acts like it empty and will only load up now and again.If i leave the disc in on boot up it takes ages for windows to start up.
Im really getting a bit miffed off now!!
