Hey guys, new to the forum. Basically I am here for help or to give someone who is good at editing a challenge.

I’ve had an idea for a league and I am trying to do it but it is pretty hard for a new editor like myself and my comp is bust so I am on a rubbish desktop for now.. so I thought I’d put the challenge out there for more experienced editors to have a go if they fancy it.

Basically the idea is to split the world into regions and have a leagues based on those regions.

Four or five divisions in:

Western European League: England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, Holland, Belgium

Mediterainian league:Spain: Portugal, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Croatia,

Northern Central League:Germany, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria

Eastern League: Russia, Ukraine, Czech, Slovak, Latvia, Serbia, Romania, Poland

Then an Americas league with Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Usa etc

Also, have two domestic cup competitions in each.

A world wide cup, either say, top five from each league in one then the next four and cup winners in another whatever will work.

Maybe an U21 league and cup as well with league and then knockout so the youth players get a prestigious trophy to play for.

Keep national teams the same and make the league rules very similar with home based player rules as in the PL.

Does anyone think this would be a good idea, or even work. Is it possible?

Thanks

Duncan

doubt it would work, due to the regional structuring of this, but quite a decent idea :)

its pretty big idea but i think it can be done, i assume you are on about using club teams not national ones?

somebody may be able to make this but you'd need to supply a lot more info i.e. number of teams in each league - what teams to use etc....

have a little think about the details of this idea and when you're sure you know exactly what you want then make a request on this link and someone can make it for http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/f74/...ivaldo99s-editing-requests-thread-t42121.html

Have tried this before 2 ways;

1) to set different leagues for each region in one Continent

This worked to a certain extent but had trouble to get just winners to play in a end of season Cup and for the teams to remain in thier respective leagues in 2nd season.

2) I set regions in 4 different continents but there was no way to get regions to play each other in a Champions league structure,

If anyone knows away around the 1st way then I would be willing to finish it off.

You may want to add Finland and Iceland in with the Northern countries :)

There was some talk about some such occuring in the real world a few years ago.

Hey thanks for the replies guys.. I'll definitely have a little think about it and keep playing around with the idea... Finland and Iceland were supposed to be in there.

I wouldn't be worried about which teams are in there.. just throw them altogether using a one from each country at a time. In otherwords, i haven't spent that much time thinking about the actual teams. Maybe to make it work it does need more planning. I'll do that.

As for structure, i was thinking 20 in the top flights and 22-24 in the following divisions.

I think the beauty about this idea is that you can still manage in different leagues and therefore there are other challenges which i think is a bonus. I tried playing a world league and that was one of the things i missed the most.

Have you thought About a world league and incorporating Regional competitions ie Euro, Asia, Scandinavian etc This could be easily done also you could have a world club cup and a youth cup. if your interested in this idea, compile a list of clubs you want in and the structure of the leagues and leave the comps to me to sort and I can then start editing. You can either PM me or leave a post at editing request thread below.

Already created something similar to this, but the game mixes up the leagues at the end of the first season

Tried this before but always encounter some problem, loved the idea though and would gladly attempt to make it for FM11

Hi Psycho... Here is the list that i have done so far. I've been struggling to get the numbers down as you probably know from my PM it was a lot bigger. I have left room for the other teams from other parts of the world that you will do from the in game ratings.. and the other teams at the bottom of the list can be used to fill in numbers as it may be an idea to have at least two for each country. Some of the teams may look strangely placed but where it was possible i used their league positions for the 09/10 season to place them, hence FC Twente in the top flight liverpool in 3rd division.

If you still feel it should be smaller then let me know and i'll condense it even more but i need a break as my eyes are hurting.

Cheers Duncan
