I haven't seen GodCubed's thoughts on this, and would be interested in what he thinks. But in my opinion, if he can bring success, then why not hire him. Given time, he could make Aston Villa the competitors for Europe they once were under O'Neill to a certain extent and make them better. Who knows?
I can understand why the Villa fans are extremely disappointed, but they may have to change their mind about him if he does get them into Europe and/or start challenging for the top four within the next three to four years like Tottenham have done already.
