i follow football in real life, and enjoy following the transfers and i just enjoy the game of football.anyway i bought this game, and i am slowly learning it. i am just a bit overwhelmed. would it be a good idea to start off with a top club to learn the basics? this way, i don't have to worry about staff, facilities, etc. i want to get the basic stuff down such as buying players, training, scouting, etc. before i start a new save, and start unemployed. do you guys have any tips for a new player like me?

Man city is always good to start off with, infinite budget good team (if slightly overrated) or arsenal is good i think they have low expectations (you can come 8th and not be fired from memory)

welcome to Fm11 and the rest of your life mate :)

start off with a decent mid table team (with low expectations, City will want you to win something) try a team like Udinese/Sunerland/Everton/Palermo/Napoli/Dortmund/Leverkusen/PSG something along those lines, learn the game, you will still have a bit of cash (besides Everton) to spend on a few good players (it will force you to scout more and deeper as you wont have endless amounts of cash to splurge on anyone you want)

you will still be able to bring in good coaches and with the right tactics could even challenge for Europe or win :)

I suggest going through some of these here and trying them out to assist you in getting to know the basics, learn about how to set up tactics correctly and scout some of the best young talent there is out there :)

good luck :)

You should find a decent team e.g Newcastle and ask yourself the question of what you would like to do with the squad.
Because when Raburto Mancini stepped up Man. City didn't ask him to go bezerk on transfers he did it because he thought that was best for the club and thats what you should do - whats best for the club.
