Expectation

Expectations set by the board this season to challenge for the title, with no money for transfers and positions in need of strengthening this could be a tall order.

However if Gimnastic De Tarragona are going to step out of the shadows of Catalan giants Barcelona, we need to push all the way

Bilbao Athletic 0 v 1 Gimnastic De Tarragona

Marias (OG 34)

A good start to preseason, we completely dominated possession however against a weak side, goal came via an own goal in the 34th minute, The whole team were changed at half time and held on to the win in a match were we could have scored more.

Gimnastic De Tarragona 2 v 4 Sampdoria

Marcos (40,51)

Didnt feel like a bad result against a clearly stronger outfit, Sampdoria dominated throughout and led 4-0 at half time, I didn't make any changes throughout the match as I felt that apart from possibly bringing in a left back this would be my starting team. We improved second half and Marcos got on the scoresheet.

Gimnastic De Tarragona 3 v 0 Lazio

Marcos (16,26) Rubio (27)

An unexpected result against a full strength Lazio team, Lazio dominated the game with us only registering three shots on goal that resulted in 2 goals for Marcos and a first goal for Rubio , unfortunately Ginar strained his hamstring and has resulted in a 6 week layoff, with an already small squad this could provide a challenge for the first month of the season.

Aleman (71) Sanchez (74)

Very much a game of 2 halfs, the away side controlled in opening 45 minutes leading 3-0 at the break, after the break the team talk must have worked as we came out and scored 2 goals in 4 minutes with our 2 midfielders Sanchez and Aleman pitching in. An all round decent performance again being over shadowed by another crucial injury to Javi Martinez, our only remaining right winger, looks like we might have to dip into the loan market.

Rapitenca 1 v 3 Gimnastic De Tarragona

Marcos (4,8,78)

We dominated the entire match with Rapitenca only registering the one shot which resulted in their goal in second half injury time. Marcos getting another 3 goals aswell as he looks ever impressive.

Amposta 0 v 0 Gimnastic De Tarragona

A bore draw is the only way i can summarise this match, each team registering one shot each, off target aswell. I did however rest most of the first team players due to fatigue. My backup players do not look cabable of a lot, due to this i hope the physios room remains empty this season.

Pobca De Mafumet 1 v 0 Gimnastic De Tarragona

A disapointing end to pre-season really, we never contested in this match which i find more annoying that the result however plenty of positives to take into the league campaign and I am happy with the team.

Marcos ST(C) - Had a great pre-season weighing in with no fewer than 6 goals, clubs are interested in him but he isnt going anywhere if i can help it.
